Welcome to Intelligent Agents where computers don’t just follow instructions but perceive their environment, reason about goals, and act autonomously to achieve them.
In lesson 3 you’ll explore the core architecture of intelligent agents while diving into key techniques such as the agent program and function, the concept of rationality and the task environment. By the end, you’ll understand how today’s most impressive AI systems work under the hood and solve real-world problems.

Why does SAF matter? Aviation is one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize. It currently accounts for about 2 to 2.5% of global energy-related CO₂ emissions and around 12% of all transport emissions. As demand for air travel continues to grow rapidly, we need a quick alternative to decarbonize the industry, that’s where Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) come in - as the single most important near-term tool.
In module 3 We’ll explore what SAF is and how it works, including its critical “drop-in” advantage that allows it to be used in today’s existing aircraft and infrastructure without any changes. Then comes the technical heart of the module. A clear breakdown of the main production pathways. We’ll look at HEFA (the dominant pathway today), Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ), Fischer-Tropsch, and a quick look at emerging Power-to-Liquid options - including how each pathway works, their feedstocks, strengths, and constraints.
